Enzyme REW Conc.

Enzyme REW Conc. is a new engineered cellulase designed for textile applications such as fabric and garment bioinishing (i.e. depilling, surface modifications and softening) and is supplied as a concentrated liquid. Enzyme REW Conc. is also suitable for denim washing.

Typical Characteristics
Appearance : Amber Liquid
pH : 4.5 - 5.5
Specific gravity : 1.05 - 1.15

● Concentrated product can be used directly or further dilution
● Very good performance/price ratio
● Wider pH tolerance
● Good color retention
● Good de-pilling effect
● Relatively low strength loss
● Soften handle with greater drapability

Enzyme REW Conc. is suitable for biofinishing (i.e. softening, surface fiber removal,
depilling) of various types of cellulosic fabrics and garments. Biopolishing can be
arranged either before or after dying, depending on the desired effects.
Typical biopolishing conditions
Equipment : overflow, winch, jet dying machines or laundry washer.
Dosage : 0.3-0.5% o.w.f.
Liquor ratio : 1:8 – 1:20
pH : 4.5 – 7.5
Temp. : 45 - 55°C, 50-55°C is recommended and more than 55°C should be avoided.
Treatment time : 30 - 60 mins.

Note: the new Enzyme REW Conc. has wider pH tolerance But it has the best performance at
lower pH 4.5-5.0,especially at the pH 4.8 adjusted by the buffer solution with acetic acid and
sodium acetate. If the dyeing bath solution’s pH is higher than pH 5.0, more Enzyme REW
Conc. would be needed.

Enzyme Inactivation
All cellulase enzymes should be inactivated after the desired effect is obtained. Insufficient inactivation can result in extended exposure of the garment or fabric to active cellulase. This unintended exposure can cause undesirable strength loss.

Enzyme REW Conc. can be inactived by one of the following procedures.
● hold the bath at pH≥10 for 10 minutes. Sodium carbonate is recommended for pH adjustment.
● hold the temperature ≥ 70℃ for 10 minutes.
